Submissions
Aggie Encore is a bi-annual (per semester) literary magazine that features an array of literary works by the conscientious students of North Carolina Agriculture and Technical State University. By conscientious we mean students ready to see their work showcased in all its glory...and you've made it to the submission page so obviously you think you have what it takes. Challenge accepted.
Submissions are currently OPEN.
Themes and Submissions Schedule
Submissions for each issue will be open through a period until Mid October (Fall Semester) followed by a closing and a release. Then reopened through a period until Mid March (Spring Semester) followed by a closing and a release. This time period is fixed (unless stated otherwise) to the said dates. Submission sent outside of the time frames will not be read and deleted. We want your stuff in just as much as you do, so please pay attention.
Poetry Guidelines
Only unpublished work will be considered.
Along with your submission please include a brief cover letter that includes the full name in which you would like to be published under, a short-3 line maximum bio and a point of contact. Here is a link to a cover letter template for guidance. Submission without a cover letter will not be considered.
Each submission should be no more than 3 pages.
You may submit up to three poems per submission. If your work is accepted elsewhere, please notify us immediately through the email address where your work was submitted with the subject line “POETRY WITHDRAWAL: [Title]".

Fiction Guidelines​
The fiction column is a platform for cutting edge writers who have a vivid writing style and a unique alternative voice. Interested writers are asked to keep writing samples between 500-1200 words.

Creative Nonfiction Submission Guidelines
Each nonfiction submission should be no more than 8,000 words. No more than two Nonfiction pieces can be submitted at one time.
We do not accept multiple submissions during the submission period.

Photography Guidelines
For photography, all submissions are to be of good visual quality. The topic or subject matter of the photograph is not exclusive but vulgar, graphic and other crude images will not be accepted (with that being said, along with your submission you may include a brief description/explanation not exceeding three sentences).

No more than five photos can be submitted per photographer per issue of the magazine.
Submissions outside of these parameters will not be considered and will be deleted. Any questions please direct them to ncat.encore@gmail.com with the subject line reading "PHOTO QUERY: [Name]."
Submission Format:
Photography submissions should be sent to ncat.encore@gmail.com with a subject line reading, “PHOTO SUBMISSION: [Name].” Submissions should be attached as a .jpeg or equivalent to your submission email. If your submission does not follow this format, we will delete the email without reading it.
Visual and Digital Media Submission Guidelines:
Submissions should be no less than one (1) minute and more than seven (7) minutes long
Submission must also include a pitch, brief summary, or description of what your video or audio is about. We will only accept and review submissions about Art, Music, Literature, and Film.

Visual and Digital Media submissions should be sent to ncat.encore@gmail.com with a subject line reading, “ENCORE: FIRST NAME_LAST NAME_TITLE_VDM.” Audio (podcast) submissions should be attached as .mp3 and video submissions should be attached as .mp4 in your submission email. If your submission does not follow this format, we will delete the email without reading it.
Interview and Review Guidelines
For interviews, all submissions must be 12 font, Times New Roman and double space, No more than 500 to 700 words. Along with your submission, you must provide some form of proof of permission from the interviewee. If you do not provide this your interview will be deleted (A simple statement at the end of your interview will suffice). Keep in mind your interview should be of someone of some accreditation or at least have something worth talking about.
For submitting reviews the material should be relative to the projected theme. We encourage review submissions from a variety of material including but not limited to: movies, tv, music, books, essays, and podcast. When submitting your review it must be 12 font, Times New Roman and double spaced. No more than 500-700 words. Vulgar or offensive material will not be accepted and deleted.

Response Times
Response times vary by the number of submissions we receive. If you have not heard back from us within the month of our deadline email us at ncat.encore@gmail.com. In your email please include the title of your work and the date you submitted.
